Police posted reward posters in Riverside Park South after two violent attacks on Thursday night. In the first incident a homeless man was attacked by four men and thrown over a railing into the Hudson River. In the second attack assailants put a bag over a 21-year-old college student's head, beat and robbed him.

There are renewed calls for dedicated Park Enforcement Patrol as there is not a single dedicated officer assigned to patrol more than 300 acres of Riverside Park. The stabbing rampage in the park last October a few blocks away is still fresh in the minds of neighborhood residents.

Police are searching for four assailants wanted for two violent attacks on Thursday night in Riverside Park South.
A 50-year-old man described by police as homeless was sitting on a bench in the park near West 71st street when he was approached by four black men around 10:30 pm.
"This is my bench" one of the men told the homeless man. The one of the assailants grabbed the man's bag and a struggle ensued.
The group attacked, punched him and threw him over a railing before fleeing empty handed according to police.
He was found the next day by park goers, bleeding down by the Hudson River.
“Out walking my dog on Friday morning at about 7am in Riverside Park, I saw a man, who appeared to be homeless, perched on a rock in the Hudson River, gripping the river wall near the Kayak dock at the equivalent of W. 72," wrote a park goer on the website Westside Rag.
"The man DID NOT call out for help. His face was bloodied, his hands scraped raw and he was visibly shaking and seemed quite disoriented.. I called this in to 911 and first responders removed him and took him away by ambulance."

A homeless man was found bleeding by the water after being attacked in the night.
A second incident occurred about 11:30 p.m. in the park a few blocks away.
A 21-year-old man coming home from college was walking alone in the park near West 68th Street when he was approached by four male blacks, who put a bag over his head, struck him in the head with an unknown object and robbed him.
The group took his wallet with credit cards, an I-phone, a book bag with a laptop computer and keys.
The victim was found by a park goer bleeding from the left side of this head. The passerby walked him home. The victim went to Cornell Hospital where he was treated for a head wound.
Police do not have a good description of the attackers.

Once again park safety is being called into question. There are renewed calls for dedicated Park Enforcement Patrol as there is not a single dedicated officer to patrol more than 300 acres of Riverside Park.
Last October, Julius Graham, 43, went on a rampage stabbing five people including an 18-month-old child Riverside Park South a few blocks away from the Thursday's incident.
